The family maths challenge

This month our maths questions come from some TV stars at

We are lucky enough to have two of the most famous actors in New Zealand asking  some maths questions.  Some are easy and some are harder, can you and your family answer 1, 2 or all 3?

Question 1

“Shortland Street began in 1992, how many years has it been on TV for”?

Question 2

“Currently Shortland Street has 400,000 viewers every day, how many viewers are there in one week”?

Question 3

“Shortland street began in 1992, there have been 6000 episodes.  How many episodes are there in an average year”?

How would your family solve these problems?

Tell us how your family managed to solve these problems and you could win a prize!

 You can write your answer on paper, email it, or record yourself explaining how you solved the problem.  You can solve one, two, three or all four problems.

Winners will be announced at the end of this month.  Email and videos can be sent to loconnor@stanhope.school.nz  Answers on paper can be handed into your child’s classroom teacher.
